Aclem, Ungawa for Children, Uganda

This is the exceptional story of a meeting in Uganda between the “AClem Foundation” president and David Baluku, an African tourist guide, active academic, wildlife conservationist with a soul of “entrepreneur”, incorruptible. David and Rosario share some common passions including a love for nature and animals and a love for Africa and its peoples. It is therefore not surprising that they would conceive a project which contains both these elements. “Cow project for the children” is gradually emerging in Karambi sub-county in the Kasese district in Uganda. This region is home to the rare cow species Watusi and to a disproportionate number of orphans of the AIDS epidemic and the Rwandan genocide.

AClem UNGAWA for Children Uganda today owns 3.3 acres of land used as pasture for Watusi cows. The profit from the commercialization of their milk rich in proteins will finance the reduction in malnutrition related diseases of susceptible children in the “Green Valley Orphanage Nursery School” (240 orphans) from now to 2015.

ACLEM – UNGAWA for Children Uganda pursues the rehabilitation, the education and the right to quality nourishment in respect and preservation of the natural environment. Frs 8'000. have been committed to date to this project and more funds will be made available in the future as the project progresses through its phases under the rigorous and enthusiastic leadership of David Baluko.
